Crissal thrasher
Toxostoma crissali
USFWS: No status
CDFG: Species of Special Concern
Background
The Crissal thrasher is a
ground-dwelling relative of the mockingbird that occurs in the
Plan area in desert saltbush scrub and mesquite hummock areas.
This species may be difficult to include in the Plan because
habitat needs and population numbers for this bird are poorly
known. Additional habitat surveys are needed to determine
whether other viable populations exist within the Plan area.
Additional information on this species and the extent to which
conservation goals can be developed in the Plan area is in
preparation.
